Clients that live on the property have had a hard time dealing with this agency in getting issues resolved in a timely manner or nothing at all. One resident has been constantly harassed and had threats and property damaged by another client and AHI refuses to take corrective action against the offender. The police say they can not do anything because they have to see it happening to do anything about it. what happened to the philosophy of AHI to treat each client with respect and to try to make the lives of these clients as stress free as possible. Instead the Executive Director and the Director of Client services bully clients who do not bow down to their demands. They have a grievance procedure for clients but that grievance procedure is overseen by them and they make the decision and basically the clients really has no recourse except to find an advocate outside of this organization. AHI has discrimanatory housing and assistance practices. Some clients are told they do not qualify for a service while another with the same exact needs and qualifications does.
It is time for some other organization to offer some competition to this badly managed organization. The guy running the organization acts like a crooked politician to get what he wants and uses threats against those that question anything he does. Clients have been put down and slandered by this guy.
If you donate to this organization or care about the clients that are in need of sevice or know someone on their board of directors, take the time to ask some relevant questions about not only where your donated money is going and how it is being used but how the clients are being treated.
